PURCHASE ADVICE
Buying a new bike can sometimes be quite a daunting task. Which brand, what frame size, saddle type, pedals and handlebars should you get? And what about the length of the crankset? With a purchase advice session, I give you tailor-made advice so you can enjoy your new bike to the fullest. Moreover, you can be sure that you have purchased components suitable for your body! Because I have no connection with any brand or stores, you will always get an unbiased and honest opinion from me. Visit De Biomechanieker for a Purchase Advice for your bike.
Unfortunately, it is still very common for people to buy the wrong bike in terms of size and components, even after getting advice in the bike store. This often concerns a crankset, handlebars, stem or saddle. But in some cases, even a ‘recommended’ frame size is not appropriate.
Avoid extra costs after the purchase and make an appointment with De Biomechanieker to help you purchase a road bike, mountain bike, time trial/triathlon bike or cyclocross/gravel bike that is perfectly tailored to you.
Duration: 1 – 1:15 hour
Costs: € 129,-
What to expect during a purchase advice session:
1. Physical screening
2. If you already have a bicycle, we will ride the current bicycle (on the roller dynamometer) and possibly make some small adjustments to make a good estimate for the new bicycle. If you don’t have a bike yet, this is no problem.
3. A report is drawn up with explanations for each component and which size is recommended.
4. This report will be discussed with you and sent by e-mail.
5. If you have found a nice and suitable bicycle afterwards, you can always send me the information for a second opinion. An extra check before you spend the big money!

Purchase Advice Road Racing Bike
Buying a new road bike…..
…..is an exciting and fun activity. But how can you be sure that the racing bike you want to buy, or that the seller wants to sell to you, really suits your body? This is where De Biomechanieker comes into play.
Nothing is more disappointing than finding out, after an often expensive purchase, that the bike does not suit you as well as expected. Avoid big expenses afterwards and let me help you buy a personalised new road bike!
The range of road bicycles is now enormous. Carbon, aluminum, steel or titanium. And in addition, there are different types of frames, endurance and aero, sloping or non-sloping. All this does not make the choice any easier. Moreover, frame sizes of road bicycles from different manufacturers and types can no longer be compared. Lots of food for thought when buying a new road bike. Let me help you in this quest!

Purchase Advice Triathlon/Time Trial Bike
Buying a time trial bike…..
……cyclists often only consider these when they already have experience with road cycling and want to further develop their skills in this discipline. It is also possible that you are originally a runner and now want to do triathlons or run-bike-runs. For time trial bikes I almost always give different advice regarding the crank length than for road bikes. This size is extremely important in achieving constant power, but also in maintaining an aerodynamic but comfortable position. So come and visit us before you actually buy yourself a time trial bike!
Buying a time trial bike is generally not a decision that you make quickly. The costs are significant. All the more important that you buy a bike that is perfectly suited to your size.

Purchase Advice Mountainbike
What type of mountain bike you are going to buy…

Different guidelines apply to, for example, the handlebar width on a mountain bike than on a road racing bike. So if you are planning to buy a mountain bike next, don’t hesitate, come by for advice first!

Purchase Advice Gravel/Cyclocross bike
In addition to cycling, do you also want to cyclocross or gravel?
This is a great way to bridge the winter months and improve your steering technique. Many settings correspond to those of the road bike, but small differences in the set-up of the cyclocross or gravel bike can give you just the extra control you need in the field.
If you want to traverse the mud or the sand like Mathieu van der Poel? Then having good bicycle control is then absolutely necessary. This is largely your technique as a cyclist, but the technique of the bicycle itself should not be underestimated. A bike that fits your body perfectly certainly helps with this. A correct handlebar width, crank length and of course frame size are indispensable!
