Cycling Holiday
Join De Biomechanieker on a cycling holiday from the 4th to the 10th of June 2023 in the Dordogne in France!

Region:
The Dordogne is a region known for its beautiful medieval villages and castles, rivers and beautiful nature. A great cycling area where the hilly terrain offers sufficient challenge, but also sufficient recovery options on the flat and slightly sloping parts of the road.
Aron has been coming to this area for summer holidays for the past several years and really enjoyed the variety of cycle routes. This gave rise to the idea of going to the area he knows well with customers to share the experience of cycling on relatively quiet and safe road while enjoying the beautiful villages and surroundings.
Cycling Holiday Residance:
Nearby the town of Lalinde we have a beautiful stay for the week. Lalinde is originally an ancient English fortified town on the banks of the river Dordogne.
Our residence has room for 10 people. There is a spacious living room and kitchen. The outdoor area is beautifully laid out with a real “infinity pool” as the highlight. You can enjoy the sun or shade on the terrace next to the swimming pool.
Food, drinks and coziness:
This week the food and drinks are fully taken care of for you!
Every morning we will start with a complete breakfast to be well prepared to go on the bike. Depending on the length of the route, lunch will be provided on the way or we will have dinner on return. Our ‘cycling cook’ Arco will put delicious evening meals on the table.
Sufficient snacks will be provided throughout the day. We also provide variation in the drink selection!
Itinerary:
Sunday: arrival day (in consultation also Saturday evening possible for a small extra charge). You can arrive from early in the morning until late at night and will be greeted by Aron who will already be there waiting for you. There is time to cycle independently, or together with others, or to undertake another activity on the day. When the weather is good, you can also relax in and around the private pool as well.
Monday to Friday: we ride different routes between 50 km and 120 km. You are free to decide to come along or rather take it easy for a day.
Saturday: Check out at 11:00
During cycling:
While cycling, a support vehicle drives along for convenience and safety. We don’t have to fix flat tires, but we put in a new wheel immediately and there is always enough water and food available. In the event of an emergency, an injury or enormous fatigue you will be able to hitch a ride in the car.
It is also possible to cycle the routes individually if you have a Garmin or other device in which the route can be pre-programmed.
During each route we provide one or more breaks to admire the beautiful scenery.
The trip is not a race and we stay together as a group on the ‘easy’ parts and wait for each other on top of climbs.
Outward and Return journey:
As said, everything is included, except for the trip. Travel time by car is about 10.5 hours. Flying from Rotterdam to Bergerac (1.5 hour flight) is also possible. Do not forget that in this case you will need a bicycle case or bag. This airport is a 30-minute drive from the residence, transfer can be arranged for you!
Of course you are not required to cycle the whole day f you do not want this. Everyone is free to make trips at their own initiative. A dip in the swimming pool after a bike ride is not a bad way to end the afternoon!
